NOTE: our harrows can be inspected and collected from 27 locations throughout the UK. We use generous quantities of steel in the harrow frames with 8mm profiles in place of the industry standard 6mm. Our triple tooth sections weigh 2.1kg. The industry standard for triples is about 1.5kg making ours up to 40% more massive. We use the extra metal mass to make them stronger with a wider and longer chisel type tooth. This avoids pulling up the turf in rolls while able to go deeper into thatch. The tooth sections are double sided. One side is standard and the other is aggressive. Double sided tooth bed can be flipped and reversed to allow the owner to get a different effect from either side. These are BRITISH DESIGNED MACHINES. Excellent weld quality and paint finish of a high standard. Much more robust and effective than the lighter examples from East Europe which are not rated for heavier UK grassland conditions where the sward is more dense and the thatch more persistent. The result of our efforts makes the harrows more aggressive and effective at aeration. Very effective at clod crushing and levelling. Many customers use this harrow with good effect on ploughed pasture land before re-seeding. Some customers have chosen our approach over the use of spring tine harrows for the combined utility of effective levelling for poaching and molehills and aggressive raking out of the thatch offered by the superior performance from the longer tooth. 14mm steel rings hold the tooth bed sections together. Heavier lugs around the frame: upgraded to hold the heavier chain bed in place. Frame is made from 80 X 80 X 8mm 355 carbon steel all round the frame (Other products compare at 6mm on some or all of their frame steel profiles and some use inferior steel grades). Heavy duty skids 8mm thick 355 carbon steel. Our more massive and longer chisel type tooth sections give good slitting performance, go deeper into the thatch and provide greater protection against shattering (See pictures of our design to compare). Locking mechanism in place of safety chain. Better results on your pastures and a longer lasting implement. We work closely with our production partner to enforce our standards of welding and paint quality. We have control and get the standards we want. This can be seen in some of the close-up photos which show an unused display harrow which had stood outside for 2 seasons and was still good for display and video. Note: 4 meter comes with hydraulic fold and we do not produce a manual fold version because the heavier construction would make manual folding difficult. We can recommend and source a lighter 4 meter alternative without hydraulics if required. All harrows have four lines of tooth sections with 5cm aeration penetration getting down into the pasture and tearing out unwanted moss and dead matter to promote growth. Front to back the chain bed not including the frame is 6 2 deep (1.86 meters). Transport width when folded 2.45 meters. Comes complete with linkage pins, skids and hydraulic hoses.
